CHARLOTTE HOSTS FINTECH GENERATIONS CONFERENCE
EVENT SPONSORS INCLUDE ORACLE AND THE CAROLINA FINTECH HUB
Charlotte, N.C., (April 3, 2018) – On June 13th the top financial technology thought leaders and companies from around the world will gather at AvidXchange headquarters in Charlotte to discuss Fintech’s Rise and hear from fintech influencers such as Jim Marous and Colleen Taylor.
Fintech Generations, presented by Oracle and the Carolina Fintech Hub and co-organized by Finsiders, is one of the largest fintech conferences outside of New York City and San Francisco. Attendees have come to Charlotte for this annual event to hear from speakers such as Nigel Morris of QED Investors and Cathy Bessant of Bank of America and to see what is happening in one of the world's most dynamic regions in fintech innovation, the Southeast.
Jim Marous and Colleen Taylor will give this year’s keynote addresses. Jim Marous is an internationally recognized financial industry strategist, co-publisher of The Financial Brand, and the owner and publisher of the Digital Banking Report. Through previous speaking appearances, Jim has been featured by CNBC and CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and more publications from around the world. Colleen Taylor is the Executive Vice President of New Payments at Mastercard. She has had a successful career in finance with various positions at Wachovia Bank/Wells Fargo and J.P. Morgan in the US and the UK.
This year’s theme of Fintech Generations is Fintech’s Rise. Fintech is no longer emerging, it is maturing. Panels and fireside chats will dive further into this theme by discussing open banking, financial inclusion, the new era of commerce, entrepreneurship, and more.
“Fintech has transitioned in the last few years from an insider term to an input that cities are using to model and pursue economic growth,” says Tariq Bokhari, Executive Director of the Carolina Fintech Hub. “Fintech Generations is our opportunity to convene today’s global influencers to a regional fintech destination, while simultaneously inspiring the next generation of innovation.”
The conference will also be Demo Day for Class 8 of Queen City Fintech, co-organizer of Fintech Generations, which features fintech startups from all around the world who will have just spent twelve weeks incubating in Charlotte.
"Fintech Generations has really helped put Charlotte on the map as the host city of one of the best fintech events in the US,” says Daniel Roselli, Managing Director of Queen City Fintech. “Both previous events have sold out and with this year’s event happening at AvidXchange, we expect to sell out again with close to 400 attendees."
